Winchester 1400/1500 mag throat replacement

Hi,
I am hoping someone out there can help me by letting me know the best method to remove the old mag throat from a winchester 1400/1500 12 gauge, mine has craked off and let the mag follower and spring come out so there's not a lot to grip the old throat by to pull it out.
Has any one out there had this problem and how did you overcome it?
