Just got a Winchester model 12 12 ga . on the barrel it says proof steel for superspeed & super x 3in full has ser#1381414
20 ga shell is very tight going in end of barrel

also Remington sportsman58 12 ga for 2 3/4 or shorter MOD
Ser#91011v on one side of barrel it has &BD E on the other side it has R.E.P.this gun has scenes of dogs and quails engraved on bothsides
how old are they? and what type of ammo should be used ?
cant wait to try them

The Winchester is a 1953 ,

the Rem, I'm not sure of the exact date but made from 1956 - 1963.

Use any conventional shell of the proper length except for Steel shot

The serial numbers on the 58 ran from 1000 to 275000. Your gun must have been made about 58 0r 59.

mountain dew cans . my father in law swears it is
a gun used for matches

where can i get info on cleaning and break down info on these two? they didn't come with books
