I have a Winchester model 12 16 gauge that was converted to a 28 gauge back in the 80's. The Magazine tube stop lug is kind of flattened down a little and when the forearm is pushed forward the slide handle will go past the stop lug. My question is, can one re-raise that stop lug and it will work again or will it just bend down again the first time I use it because of metal fatigue? Possibly I could weld a small piece on the magazine tube to searve as a new stop lug? I'm trying to fix this one vs buying a new magazine tube Which is sort of pricey and hard to find.
