You made the correct choice. You can buy a Turkey choke. The left hand SX4 is an amazing gun. I am assuming it is the 3 .5 inch . 28 inch barrel ? I have the same gun in shadow grass habitat.i had the field model in right hand and changed it over to a left hand safety. Had a 26 inch and 28 inch barrel. Shot everything with it including turkey. When they came out with the leftySX4 i sold the RH and purchased the leftie. I shoot trap Skeet, ducks, Turkey all with 28 inch and various chokes. Gun handles all loads and is a really soft shooter. I Don't use 3.5 shells but could if I want to I have the option. You wnt be disappointed by your choice.

What about everything I’m reading about malfunctions with the Winchester SX4 ?

I have owned two SX4s . One Right hand Field model , I had a 26 and 28 inch barrel for it. When the Left hand models came available I purchased a 3.5 inch left hand 28 inch in Shadow grass habitat. I sold the Right hand field model. I can say I have put hundreds of shots through both guns and I have never had a Failure. I have shot everything from 7/8 oz skeet and trap loads to 3.5 magnums. Never had a Failure to eject or load a shell from the magazine. I clean my guns after every use. If a gun can cycle over 100 7/8 oz target shells in an afternoon of skeet, it can handle anything.
First shots I fired from the leftie in the field I shot 3 teal , with 3 shots from one flight. I just ordered a left hand field model in 12 gauge, with the 26 inch barrel. I love the look and feel of the wood models. Can't say enough about these guns.
