a friend of mine inherited a winchester shotgun. he does not know the model number. it is a 10 gauge, double barrell, exposed hammers and double trigger. anyone know what it is?

Yeah I think I do, it's called a "Breech Loading SxS" (seriously) this gun depending on grade can be worth anywhere from $300 to $4,000. Why don't you tell what all is written on it an the location.
Approx. 10,000 were imported between 1879-84 (not Winchester made but Branded.
for a reasonably accurate appraisal follow the instructions at the top of the ID forum
