Hi,
My son (15 years old) has acquired via a relative a WW Greener S X S 12 gauge shotgun that originally belonged to his great grandfather. We are going to restore it and would like to accurately date it and find out a bit more about this model. The serial No. is 28110 if anybody can help in ID'ing this particular gun it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Walco

I have the Greener serial numbers, but they're almost as confusing as the L C Smith numbers. As near as I can tell, your gun dates about 1898.. Greener is still in business, go to the home page, and they will tell you, where to send to have it researched, The cost is $25. Greener made many grades of guns, from keeper models to Best guns,, yours could be one of the better grades, I the gun has good bores, I would leave the restoration to professionals... Could you post some photos? .. Bushrod
