No, this was built long before the salt wood era

 

It's not a salt gun, but the odds are about 99% it's been restocked as a trap gun and isn't original. Take along somebody who knows, or decide that you are going to run a risk of buying a pile of poo,,,or getting a diamond for peanuts

$400 tops. Not a penny more without knowledgable advice.

 

I think that $400 is a bit off. The wood is worth that alone. Still need to have someone look at it who's in the know.
