www.laruetactical.com

http://www.laruetactical.com/larue-tact ... -predatobr™-556 This one in particular. Oh man, such a nice rifle! Larue makes good, good stuff. And it makes me feel right at home because it costs as much as something from HK!

http://www.noveskerifleworks.com/

And these guys, I'd love an N4. weaponevolution.com has a beautiful review and pics by the one, the only Stickman. That gent takes some fine photos of tactical goodies to be sure!

So, Italian shotguns, German pistols and American rifles. :D

So, anyone have any of these? Any rifles? Any tasty pics you want to share with your pal the Rev? :D

Gorgeous well appointed AR with a lil' waterfall in the background? You sir, have excellent taste. :D

Thanks for taking pics of your kit! I like how that foregrip looks on the stealth. I like the AFG and will probably experiment with one in a few months when I get my AR.

Question if you don't mind, what are your impressions of the stealth upper? I know it's really good stuff, all of their kit is good stuff but is it worth the extra dough?

Real differences in performance/function/fit and feel? Any insights would be appreciated.

I already know the M2 and glock work well.

Guns are cool,

I believe Noveske is even more than Larue! But, I fell in love with Larue after reading posts about their customer service, accuracy, and just basic tacticoolness. The fit and feel is top-notch over other companies (Colt) from what I've heard and read. Also, at the time of purchase 2/09 it was hard to find products in stock and Larue was a two week wait. Besides, they give out armadillos, meat seasoning, and stickers with every purchase - lol. So, it was worth the dough for me!!!

This is the only brand AR which I've shot besides my friends Noveske and IMHO both are equal.

The barrel is more accurate than I will ever be. The foregrip is just Magpul panels on the Larue rail, which is awesome by itself. The QD scope mount is another sweet piece as well.

Would I do it again? Absolutely.

I want an N4 but the Daniel Defense is every bit the equal and for 1 or 200 less FULLY RAILED. It's why I bought a Daniel and why I'll probably buy another...

The Larue is just insanely priced. DI guns can only get so refined.

Colt, Noveske, LMT, Larue, Spikes, BCM and DD...toss the names into a hat and draw one out.

Spikes probably being far and away the best value.

Larue's mounts however...HAVE indeed stolen my heart as well. Top notch in every respe ct (not that the rifles aren't)

So for me : Russian shotguns, Austrian pistols, Amerian rifles.

One final question good sir, how much does that weigh? Subjectively. Heavy in the front? I want to go light weight as possible and wonder about how much weight the 4 rail handguard adds.

Man I love the look of that kit. :D

Rev,

The gun is setup as more of a midrange sniper type weapon. As you see it in the photos above it is HEAVY. The tripod and scope lending a few lbs. Without those two items and using just the iron (Magpul plastic) sights it is quite light - IMHO. Note: I am 6' and weigh 215 lbs and go to the gym 3 days a week so weight is subjective:) The balance point sans tri, scope, and magazine is directly in front of the magwell. Pretty even balance, definitely not front heavy. I think it is no heavier than other offerings - DD, Noveske, LMT, etc....

BTW - The fit and finish on the rail and upper receiver is one of the best in the industry.

If weight is a concern I believe Larue offers all their Stealth products with shorter rails.

Let us know what you decide

I sure wish I was in line for a weapon as nice as that, no, instead I elected to go with the A Smith and Wesson. As soon as my guy can find one I plan on buying it assuming I can live on rice long enough to pay for it. It's their bargain basement entry model but it has a nice melonite finish and some other stuff. Good place to start becore I start adding awesome. I want to closely follow the look of the lightweight rail that Larue does.

If I had the money I'd join the people waitning for a PredatAR in 5.56 or 7.62 if I was feeling saucy.

And thanks for the detailed skinny on the weight. What a handsome weapon system, I can definitely see why you elected to rig it out for mid range precision.

I'll follow that linky Fred G.

One of those two should work.

Snap Fred! Nice pile of kit! :D

That AR looks possessed though, I might need to see it to make exorcise to it.

On a serious note, I talked to my guy at the funstore, NO one has any smith and wesson m and p sports anywhere. :(

Election and 2012 I guess. And the recent political climate I'm sure hasn't helped.

Ahh well,

That AR is a S&W M&P upper, on a Palametto State Armory lower I put together. Only a few springs were damaged in that build. :D

The Smith is not a high end AR, but a very solid and fun shooting gun. Accurate also. Lately, I have been slowly working on my collection of WWII bolt action battle rifles. Now those are fun to shoot! (Limbsaver installed....)

Thanks Pete! :D

I like the looks of that 16in M4 style upper they have on there. I might be getting one very, very soon. I've heard of palmetto from Arfcom and they have a good rep. I'm thinking I can order one monday mayhaps. I am looking into www.sotaarms.com. They throw in a charging handle and bcg. Difference between going shooting now or having to wait a (GASP!) whole month before I can shoot the gun.

Anyone have any AR uppers they don't want? :D

Carbine fever and boogy-woogie blues have got me,

I have a Palmetto State Armory lower. Good product, great price. Odd, mine won't drop 6.8SPC mags, but drops 5.56 mags no problem. So, S&W lower goes on the 6.8, PSA goes on the 5.56, problem solved.

Misery, in the "off topic" thread there is a pic posted by Alt15shiver, a regular around here, of a burger with grilled cheese sandwiches for buns.

You rifle looks as tasty as that.

Seriously beautiful looking carbine. Elegant and nice. Gotta know, did you name her after the GI Joe character or Gone with the wind? :D

Thanks so much for posting pics!

Fred, got a line on a lightly used Stag. Spike's lower that my guy is trying to find for me. Looks like I can get most of my rifle this month so long as Spike's can get the lower out and then it's a wait till next month for the rest of the parts.

I already have a loaded windowed Pmag so the rifle won't be unloaded but for a moment when it is assembled.

" a loaded windowed Pmag"

Aww, they are so cute when they are young aren't they? Rev, as the EBR sickness sets in fully, you will crave many magazines so you can properly feed your weapon. :D I have heard nothing but good about Spikes and Stags. I just had to snag the PSA stripped lower, as it was around $50.

Looking forward to seeing a picture of your EBR, and a range report! Then we will have to look into you getting another upper in another caliber. You know, you can swap our the lower, have 2 guns for less $. Of course, after a while, you will get tired of swapping uppers, and you will get an extra lower. And then maybe you will run across a stripped lower somewhere for cheap. And you will get it, just to have. And shortly after that, a new AR will be born. It is a vicious sickness. But lots o' fun.

http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.ph ... upper.html

I'm thinking this is it. I was looking on the ARFcom EE and cats are trying to get this kind of money from used kit. This is new and I've heard of good stuff from Palmetto. I wanted to forehead smack my mighty brain case when you reminded me of them. Should have thought of that myself. But that's what friends are for, to remind you of stuff. :D

(happy carbine dance)

I think that unless I die, truck breaks down, zombies rise or my account gets stolen I am going to order that upper tonight when I am home on my secure interweb and not stealing wireless. :D

I fully, fully realize that the one loaded mag is just a start. Figure I'll get some more mags as soon as the rifle is finished, tested and starts to become a part of my hands like my USP and Benelli. :D

My best to all of you fine gents, may you get the guns of your dreams,

That there is someone expressing love and beauty through a CNC machine. :s

I too agree it is a bummer they are not yours! You sir, have excellent taste in weapons and I was psyched to see your AR build. :D

Psssst. (whisper) If your friend has good taste too he can post pics of that rifle built and awesome. :D

Man I love guns. Wow. Maybe I should seek counseling. Nah. Probably not.
