Targets were excellent. Course layout was very good. Only one food truck for a state shoot was a big let down. Having the side by side and pump shot gun events on the preliminary course was not a good idea. The small gauges, side by side and pump are always together. Signs at each event would have helped. The building which was used for dinner and trophy’s was dark and hot. No one could here the speaker.

Subs on Thursday would have made for a better event. It does require additional labor costs, but I could have gotten more subs done without feeling rushed. I think it would have increased participation.

Ten stations, 10 targets or 5 pairs at each one, which is a grind. The others are 8 stations with 10 targets, plus 2 stations with 10 targets, or 11 stations with 8 targets, and 2 stations with 6 targets.

Obviously more work for the club to have more stations, but really enjoy more variety and not having to shoot 5 pairs of the same targets.

I think all large shoots should have at least 15 stations which is 10 six bird stations and 5 eight bird stations. 14 station courses are a grind.

Dropped by Stoney Creek for a practice day. Had a nice chat with the owner. He did a great job with this years shoot and has some really good ideas to improve for next year. Class act. I really enjoy shooting there.
