For those of us that left Virginia in about 1967 to see the world, starting with Vietnam, but still love to visit the Old Dominion, just where is this tournament? Maybe share location in relationship with a number of known places. Born in Norfolk, loved VB, stationed at Ft Story once and hunted all over the Eastern Shore. Some details on the location, resources like RV camping, nearby features. You know, Sell this!

I guess I should have added that although in Colorado, I shoot all over the country, especially state or larger. Didn't quite shoot 10,000 registered this year, but VA could have taken me over the top. Top Sail and Orcakrote (sp?) Island got my monies.

Arrowhead Gun Club is technically Chase City, Virginia. It's really in the middle of the triangle between Chase City, Keysville, and Victoria. Their site is http://www.ahgunclub.com/ - They hosted the VA State Skeet Championships there this year and have some pretty decent RV/Camper sites. Nearby features include farms, tobacco houses, prisons.... So bring your karaoke machine or jukebox with ya. It's a great club - they put in a ton of effort for their shoots.

 

Arrowhead is located on 200+ sprawling acres between Victoria and Chase City VA and has been described as a "Diamond in the Country". As 50 year old club the grounds consist of 13 skeet fields, two trap fields, covered five stand, 50 yd pistol range and a 200 yard pistol range, 60 site RV park, 6 acre + truck and trailer parking and a clubhouse that can hold 300 people with a commercial kitchen. We convert to a dedicated sporting clays facility for the State Championship. The terrain is undulating fields with some of the course winding through our high canopy hardwoods. We are located within 90 minutes of Richmond, Roanoke, Raleigh/Durham and Rocky Mount, NC. Was interested in the club as a stop on the way to Florida this fall. Is my impression correct that sporting clays is a temporary set up?
