410 powder substitution ??

Hi everybody.
My question is about powder substitution!
I have recipes for 410 buckshot loads that call for Lil Gun, HS6, H110 or Longshot, powders of which I have none. I do have Alliant 300MP powder! after reading that this is a good powder to extend hull life I bought that. On a powder burn chart of 175 powders 300MP is #70! the others are respectively Lil Gun #65, HS6 #43, H110 #66 and Longshot #54. Keeping everything else in the recipe the same: can I safely use 300MP instead? I realize that velocities will be lower, but am not concerned with that. I don't want to go out and buy another supply of powder. I have two 8# jugs of 300MP.
What is the opinion of anyone who has more experience in auch loading substitutions ?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts :)

300MP is an excellent powder for the .410 and you are less likely to get into pressure problems with it than with Lil Gun. It is very similar in performance to H110. What is the weight of your lead buckshot? There is load data on the Alliant Powder website for both 1/2oz and 11/16 oz loads. 300 MP will yield higher velocities for a given load pressure than Lil Gun or 410 powder. Even tho it performs similarly to H110, it's best to go to the Alliant website and look for a recipe. Good luck.

Accurate 4100 might just be the worlds most overlooked .410 bore powder. When Scott first introduced it, they introduced it as a .410 bore powder (as can be gleaned from its name). But after Accurate acquired Scott they took 4100 in the direction of being a pistol only powder.

As an aside of value here, Hodgdon recently affirmed to me that Ramshot Enforcer and Accurate 4100 are the same powder under different names.

Additionally, Accurate 4100 and Ramshot Enforcer share the uniqueness of being the only Hodgdon ball/spherical powders that are not manufactured by General Dynamics in St. Marks, Florida. These two powders are mfg'd at the PB Clermont facility in Belgium.

Many falsely presume that all Hodgdon ball/spherical powders are mfg'd by General Dynamics in St. Marks, Florida.

300mp is great 410 powder but is getting crazy expensive and impossible to get. H110 is my powder of choice. That being said I have 17 kegs of h110 and 300mp and don't expect to ever have to buy 410 powder again. And if I do run out I have 30 flats of new AAs.😄
