Just an update. So i went with Remington 870 Marine Magnum. The box number says 25047, so it suppose to be an actual Police model, not special purpose MM 25012. It has rifle sights, smooth bore fixed cyl and aluminum trigger guard. First i thought it was polymer but then i discovered it is aluminum, it just has a thin polymer coating. I just brought it home so i haven't got a chance to test it yet, but one thing bothers me. When i put the forend forward it locks pretty tight, but i can travel it back and forward by aprox 0.05". Is that normal that the bolt has this gap between the chamber or not? Could this mean light primer strikes or is that norm View attachment 84209

Here is a pick of the lockup on my 870 Express model converted to Police Magnum... Seems about the same...

Thank you, that's good to know. It looks like Remington designed that on purpose. Maybe because some shell makers have thicker rims and wouldn't fire otherwise? Who knows. Anyway, tommorow i'm looking forward to test mine.
That's a great setup. You policed that shottie to perfection. Fantastic!

So, today i went on another range session with my new 870P, i've shot 50 rds of 00 buck, 25 rds of slugs and 10rds of 3" buck. All went fine. But then i went home and cleaned the barrel, (it wasn't that dirty) and when i looked at the muzzle under the room light, i've noticed this strange grey and black spots. The barrel is clean of residue, so that must be something else1. And the shotgun has less than 150 rds through it. What could these spots be? Is that normal? Btw it only shows under the lightbulb or flashlight, not under natural daylight.

Nothing to worry about. Appears to be some minor lead deposits...small streaks of lead inside the muzzle & likely some on the muzzle face as well. Rifled slugs usually make a mess of my shotgun's bore. Nothing a bristle/tornado brush won't remove.

Thanks. I do have a brass brush but i was afraid to use it so i do not damage anything. What i don't have is a boresnake. Maybe that would do the job. I tried with hoppes 9 and regular nylon brush, but that didn't do the trick.
Thanks for reply, i appreciate it.
