I know Red Labels have a poor reputation for recoil, supposedly because of poor stock design. I'm wondering if anyone ever made an improved aftermarket stock for Red Labels, or if anyone here has had a stock custom made and turned their Red Label into a nicer shooting gun.
I have 2 Red Labels, a very early 12 gauge skeet model that was modified, Briley tubes, 3" chambers, lengthened forcing cones, and auto safety disabled, and a stock early 90's 20 gauge. I shot the 12 gauge for years and just put up with the recoil. About a year ago I bought a Cynergy Sporting Clays, I'm not a big fan of Brownings, but it is so much more pleasant to shoot than the Red Label, it's like night and day. Now I'm interested in taming the recoil of the Red Labels, especially the 12 gauge, to make them more user friendly.
I thought with so much negativity about the recoil due to the poor stock design (drop at comb?) that someone would have come up with a solution, but I can't find anything online.
I know that I could put a better recoil pad on to help with the shoulder, but I don't think that will help much with the comb beating up my cheek.
