Thinking of trying the Aguila 12 gauge 1 oz 1275 fps ammo for Sporting Clays, Has anyone used the shells? Any opinions?

I am a recent convert to Aguila. Especially the 1-1/8oz load of #8's at 1200fps. Have also shot their 1250fps 1-1/8oz and 1275fps 1oz loads and yes, they kick slightly to moderately more than comparable brands. Our club seems to rotate primary ammo suppliers every few years, Kemen, Rio, Fiocchi, Clever, etc...and I've shot them all. The Aguila shells are the first ones that I have ever shot and actually felt like I hit the targets harder. Smashes them. There are 3 downsides: made in Mexico, horribly obnoxious glue used to seal the flats and they are slightly dirty at the choke end of the barrel.

Because Mexico is dropping drugs in this country like it is candy and killing our kids.

I guess you don't see a problem with that.
  Must be a bunch of mexicans cooking meth deep in the woods of appalachia and the pacific NW

You're the last person on earth I'd listen to for world affairs commentary.....
Yeah. I would say that 90% or more of our country's drug problem is the result of actions and activities undertaken by Americans.

It is a huge and ugly problem but we as a country own it. Certainly there is a foreign ingredient to it but without American crime driving it the issue would not be nearly so serious.

I haven't had the opportunity to try this particular product but if the opportunity comes up I would give it a try.

Sobrepuesta,

I can only assume from your screen name that you have some affinity to/for the hispanic culture. That's fine and certainly not trying to insult you or anybody else here. I always try to buy American first. I don't feel good when I buy Mexican (or Chinese for that matter) first. When it comes to shooting, it seems like most of the nice things are German, Italian or other European. They have a tradition and track record that speaks for itself. Mexico isn't exactly synonymous with fine-anything shotgun related, other than yes, smuggling them. My issues with Mexico are political, social and economic; not personal. Aguila is my ammo of choice right now, while I can still buy it and before Trump builds the wall! (j/k)

Don't read too much into my user name. And yes, let's build that damn wall RFN.

But let the trucks packing Aguila shells through because I evaluate products by themselves. In other words, I don't worry too much about what other gun related stuff Mexicans do or do not do well.

Marist89, what is your best price range on shells without Cabela's points. The best I've ever done was $43 before tax at Field and Stream/Dicks for Remington Gun Clubs. I did use the rebate of $1/box.
I don't know, never bought them that way.

I bought approx. 20 cases from some friends of the 1oz 1325fps 71/2 loads , they thought the recoil was a little much, but I thought they were fine.
They certainly did as someone mentioned above hit targets with authority.

I would not hesitate to use them again.

Ordered the Aguila 1oz 1275s at Academy. Oddly, the shipping notice says 1 1/8 1250. I talked to them and if it's wrong they will fix it. We will see!
Let us know if they send the right material.
Thanks,
bc
I received Aguila 1 1/8 oz 1250fps instead of 1oz. I talked to Academy as soon as I saw the shipping label showing 1 1/8 instead of 1oz. The rep said they'd fix it if there was an error. I am going to contact them and see what they will do for me...my receipt/invoice shows Aguila 12ga 1oz 1275 fps.
 I saw this thread the other day and ordered five boxes (all they had) of the 1 oz stuff yesterday. I hope they don't screw my order up.
