Anyone own one of these, what are your thoughts on them? Value for money looks good, can't find a bad review on them, can't find a great deal of info on them period.

I figure now that I've put 3000 rounds through it, that it must be time for an update. I've not had a single issue with the Akkar since I bought it, the action is still as stiff & tight as the day I bought it. It never produced a FTF or FTE once. I patterned the gun shortly after purchasing it, at 25yrds it prints just over center, all 5 tubes produced decent patterns with my pet 1oz handload. It took a while for me and it to meld on the skeet field, high 2 causes me issues at times. I shot a 200 target event event today with using Challenger 1oz target loads, no issues with primer piercing on the cheddite primers that Challenger uses. My best skeet rounds was a 23, my best trap round was a 19(average for me). I have to say so far I'm impressed with the Akkar and can comfortably recommend them for someone looking for a decent quality O/U under $1000. Now if I could only find one of their SXS's locally I'd be all set for grouse season.

I had a look at the engraved version when I was at the gunshop yesterday. Very nice looking gun indeed, it seemed very well made, with tight tolerances, and lovely wood as well.

One thing surprised me about it though, and that was the matt blued barrels. I'm sure it's very practical, but I don't think it suited the rest of the gun (especially the gorgeous stock).

Hi,

I have the 20ga. Akkar, branded as Dickinson here in the US. These guns are simply an amazing gun for the money. So I'm not surprised you like yours so well.

I only have about 700 rounds through mine over the last year. So I'm very glad to hear you have had no trouble with yours.

Just bought a used Triple Crown, was concerned about possible regulation problems, and thought I would consider fixing such a challenge. But have been shooting a bit of trap with it, all rounds were very good, with a perfect 25 last time.

And that is breaking the ATA rule of only one load in the gun at a time, loading 3, and then two more on each station. Shooting "round the clock", like that, with the non selective gun, the regulation seems dead nuts!

Just having a ball with the thing, shooting lots of wobble skeet, using the extra shell, for any miss, or breaking pieces.
