Hello, I am currently happy with my reloads with Unique. I am thinking about switching to Alliant 20,28 powder for both 20 and 28 gauges. The only reason for the switch is because of the clean burning powder. I am tired of the soot from Unique. I load everything with Remington components except primers. Does anyone have any experience with this powder. thanks, mike

One note on 20/28. You cannot load Remington 28Ga hulls much past 1,200 since they have a higher chamber pressure then AAHS hulls. If this doesn't bother you great. Personally I only load AAHS in 28ga and .410. As for the performance it's just fine and very clean. Much better to me than longshot and cheaper to boot.

20/28 is cleaner than Unique at similar performance levels.

It does a good job and is clean. I have used it for 20 and 28 gauge loads back when there was a shortage of everything and I could not get longshot. With that being said I feel like longshot gives a little better performance, especially on the distance clays with 28ga.

Since I shoot O/U's a little residue is not an issue. Longshot patterns well in my gun, I have not patterned 20/28 so YMMV.

Can't say I noticed any difference in hull life for AAhs or Rem's between the powders.

I would not hesitate to use it again, but only if longshot was not available or a semiauto came to live with me again!

Good Luck!
