I shoot a 690 and have considered bumping up to the 694. After doing some research the 690 and 694 have different standard stock dimensions and dont fit me the same. The 694 is a very nice shotgun but the extra expense doesn't seem to justify the 2 extra birds you think you will gain by buying the 694. Unless of course you just want a new gun, then by all means you should buy it. We shouldn't limit ourselves. For me the next jump up will be the DT11.

Since you have real experience with all three I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I own a 690 and have shot a 694. The 694 is a great gun and I shot it well, but it was just a different fit than my 690. My question is about the DT11. I haven't test driven one yet and was curious if you found it fit similar to the 690. I know fit is a personal thing, but if you look at the stock dimensions the DT11 seems to be closer to 690. I know there are a lot of variables in that with the weight, balance and overall feel of the gun, but was just curious as to your experience. Thanks in advance.

I moved up to a 694 from a 686 Onyx Pro Sporting. Much better built and feel. I still shoot them both weekly. Both are set up identically as far as LOP and Weight.
The 694 I'm shooting Trap and Sporting Clays with, the 686 for Skeet League.
I shoot a 28g for "fun" Skeet.

The 694 i had let me take advantage of the barrel weights and the stock weight system that is part of the b-fast and i never used any of them. The gun balance and weight was fine the way it came from the dealer. The 690 I owned had the b-fast weight in the stock and I spent a lot of time with it and could never get it right, I attributed to the denseness of the wood, wood quality, I could never get comfortable with that gun. Both of those guns had 30" barrels. My DT has 32" barrels with an adjustable comb. It came with 2 spacers underneath the comb, I added 2 after shooting it and then took them off and have been shooting it the way it was delivered ever since. I have let a few people shoot the gun and they don't notice it has 32 " barrels until I tell them. The 694 is a solid workhorse, the DT-11 seems more lively. It is the sweetest shooting 12ga I've ever owned, but I don't know where the magic sauce come from.
I realize my ramblings are not very helpful but thats all I've got.

Not rambling at all. I appreciate hearing your opinion. Thanks again.
