You are referring to the "checkered" area where there is rubber like material, right?
I don't know of any way to replace except replace stock and forearm!

My Beretta's don't have the inserts so I don't have experience with that, but I would tear it out and fill with plastic JB weld.
Worst case scenario is you would have to buy a new replacement stock. which should be easy to find.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 390/391 stock are interchangable.

 

I have one that is doinot that were the butt stock meets the receiver. For now I wrapped the grip with vet wrap.
