hi folks, new guy here from south central Pa, just came upon your sight doing some searching and gotta say i like it!

i have what i believe to be a 1959? Beretta Silver Pigeon pump gun in good condition with normal wear on the loading tube from the pump and just a few nicks in the forearm, full choke barrel and i'd say half the weight of my 870 express lol

i really love this gun, it is a joy to carry and quick on target.. so being a pump ( all i ever see are DB's ) what could i expect the value to be?

thanks again and i hope i do the pic's right.....

The gun was taken care of and is a good shooter as you have stated, but a lot of people expect more
value, for a varity of reasons, which is normal. The market does change on guns, some go up,some down
and some stay the same. Some are booked valued way above the going sale price,[ person to person].
For example, look at the effect Glock pistols, have had on the market place, you can usually get a Glock
.45 for around $650-$700,new,try and get a metal colt .45 for that price new?lol? You can buy at least
2-Glock's for the going price of a Colt ..45 [I am being conservative at best] and still have money left over.It pays to do you home work, when evaluating ,basically, anything.

One thing that hurts the value of the gun is that very few people have ever heard of it. Most are not aware that Beretta ever made a pump action. It was made primarily for distribution in the USA, because this is the only country where there is a market for pump guns. A few of them in military/police trim were sold in Europe, but few Europeans have ever heard of it, either. Unfortunately, it was not a commercial success and did not remain in production long.

I have never seen one, but I have read about it because I am (or was) a collector of the Beretta 300-series of semiautomatic shotguns. A lot of parts were shared between the Silver Pigeon pump and the Silver Lark semiautomatic. The Silver Lark (and Gold Lark and Ruby Lark, different grades) was Beretta's first semiauto shotgun, but it had some defects and was soon replaced by the first of the 300 series, which has been extremely successful.

I have 2 Silver Larks, as well as some parts, but there is no market for them, either.

I never heard of a beretta pump?? where did you get it Italy? looks like a great gun.
Tell us more about that model???
this is from my research one o0f the last of the pumps before changing to double barrel.... it's all i know unfortunately.... like i said, very light and a great shooter, not to mention a good looking gun!

thanks for the info and interest folks... like i said i bought it in the early-mid 90's, it was in my price range and was a "Beretta" lol back then it meant something, though i prefer to buy American!

hi there are quite a few of these in nz the silver being the most common but i have seen two gold pigeons which have better wood and lots or machiened engraving and one real basic gun with just p beretta on it and the wood looked no better than a piece of stained pine
