What are the differences? I'd assume primarily cosmetics. Don't think it will buy you better scores.

 

Matte finish on barrels
No porting (thank God)
Larger opening and redesigned forend latch
Forend is rounded vs quasi schnabel design.
Longer and more ergonomic action latch and safety.
Improved trigger internals to increase reliability when shooting subgage (410) tubes.

I think that's it. Someone chime in if I missed something.

 

Depends what you prefer. I like the feel of the 725 better. As far as difference, little different stock & forearm, different triggers & no porting.

 

Is porting standard or special order on the 725 Sporting ?

 

I recently purchased one with 3 gun ultra light tubes in 30". Wont have till end of month from Briley, Going from a 32" Citori to the 825 sporting, for me is a big upgrade. From briley tech was told the 825 sporting does not need trigger work for .410 ga ammo which is a plus. I chose the 825 because the comb specs fit me best and less weight which is what I want for skeet. The Citori CX is a great gun but 32" front heavy barrels are hurting my scores. I was looking at a 725 for less but for me the Improved triggers for subgauge was my reason to buy. And I do like the matte finish on barrels.

 

Is anyone else wondering if the OP is a urologist? As to his question (If it is a question): If your 725 is providing you good service, why change? If it's not meeting your needs or if you just want a change, go for it.
