I became a big fan of the 725 when first released and own a 12 Sporting and 20 Sporting. They fit me well and have been reliable. They are about 1k more costly than when I bought.

This is more of a curiosity....I haven't heard much about the 825 and wondered what the 825 is offering or claiming to offer over the 725? 825 v 725? Actual better product or really marketing?

The Citori line has been produced for decades and aside from how they look they have not changed much.

The 725 to 825 appears to be along the same idea as the Citori, aside from possibly having a "true mechanical trigger" this time around...and a higher price point that I imagine will effect mkst of the Browning line by next year.

I only have a partial answer, but I looked at and handled one at a gun shop in Dallas a few days ago. Looking at it in the rack it's hard to tell from a 725 but when you pick it up you can see the cosmetic differences. Bead blasted barrel (it's too course to call it matt). Different contour on the monoblock and frame where the barrels set. No porting, normal Bradley front sight, and improved lines at the front of the forend. To me it handles just like any other 12 gauge Citori Sporting model.

Maybe now ?
my BPS Factory chokes are off .
Bought one Midas browning light mod
It was spot on told they are made by Briley
They are good most Browning chokes suck
And are NOT made by Carlson well not in the past
Any how.

Another innovation present in the Citori 725 is the new Invector DS choke system, the DS meaning double seal. The unthreaded end of the choke tubes features a brass alloy band that prevents any choke tube loosening and keeps the outer wall of the choke tubes cleaner from blow-around. You can feel the additional torque needed when you screw in these tubes.

The lower barrel measures .738 in. via Skeets bore gauge, the upper barrel at .739. The exit diameters of the Invector DS choke tubes were a bit puzzling. The IC tube measures .739, the Mod .731, and the Full at .702 inch. Yes, you read that correctly: the choke tube etched “Imp. Cylinder – Lead / Mod. Steel” has essentially no constriction at all. At best, in the lower (slightly tighter) barrel, you have .001 in., .007 in. and .036 in. constrictions, the “Full” choke designated as a lead-only choke. Mis-marked factory choke tubes are a common issue and unfortunately this Citori 725 did not come with a useable pair of hunting chokes, a glaring oversight. As to what choke tubes are supposed to be, refer to "Shotgun Chokes" on the Tables, Charts and Lists page. Only the lead-only "Full" choke supplied comes anywhere close, the Modified choke does not even offer Improved Cylinder constriction parameters.

In this gun, the 20 gauge version of the new Invector Double Seal (DS) choke tubes makes its debut. Part of the appeal of the DS choke tube barrels is that they are lighter and more responsive than standard Citori barrels. The longer DS tube gets rid of the barrel bulge at the muzzle and the DS tubes do not shoot loose. They also shoot cleaner than conventional tubes. While the 12 gauge DS tubes I tested are horribly mis-marked and do not perform as promised in the Improved Cylinder to Improved Modified range, that problem appears to have been addressed in the 20 gauge DS chokes.

Only three chokes are supplied with the 725 20 gauge field, but all three (IC, MOD, FULL) throw patterns in line with their markings. All three chokes mount flush. According to Browning, only the IC and the Modified chokes are approved for steel or tungsten shot.

Via a Skeets bore gauge, the diameter of the upper barrel measures .625 inch, while the lower barrel measures .624 inch. The constrictions on the DS 20 gauge tubes are far greater than the 12 gauge DS tubes, measuring .007 inch (IC), .015 inch (Mod) and .029 inch (Full), based on the upper barrel bore.

Grabbing my trusty bore gauge, the barrel inside diameters measured .630 inch for the upper, and .628 inch for the lower. On to the DS twenty gauge chokes. IC = .620, Mod = .613, Full - .597 inch. The “Full” is marked “lead only.” The best barometer of pattern density is shell quality and choke quality combined. I'm generally looking for a .020 - .022 inch constriction or so. The supplied chokes don't get me there, the supplied “MOD” is actually a Skeet II. The available DS Improved Mod measures .609 in., the Light Full is .605 inch.

The Sweet Sixteen's bore measures .669 in. The IC choke has a .006 inch constriction, the Modified Choke has a .011 inch constriction and the (lead only) Full choke a whopping .048 inch constriction. It appears that Browning has screwed the pooch on DS chokes again. Browning states that "longer choke tapers are optimized to percentages, not percentage only." Unfortunately, Browning is unable to define their optimization and several factory chokes actually have longer tapers than Invector-DS tubes.
