I picked up a new toy at last weekends gun show in Cedar Rapids.

Gorosabel double barreled twelve gauge shotgun - MODEL 522. Right barrel (front trigger) is rifled for shooting slugs - including sabot cartridges. Left barrel (rear trigger) is smooth bore.

The shotgun weights 7 pounds 4 and ½ ounces; barrels are 27 7/8 inches long and the LOP is 14 3/8 inches.

Manufactured in Spain by Pedro Gorosabel and imported by VIRGINIA CAPES of Virginia Beach, Virginia

I tested it with 7 ½ and 9 skeet loads, and double aught buck in the left barrel, and lead slugs in the right barrel; everything worked fine.

It has some good looking wood on it; otherwise I've never seen one like it and I can't recall seeing any Gorosabel branded gun in person before, so not really qualified to make much comment about it. Did you try shooting shot loads through the barrel with the rifling to see what would happen?

Guess there is no interest in Spanish shotguns!!

Almost 200 looks and no comments....I'm surprised..
Less a lack of interest than it is a lack of anything to say.

This kind of combination gun does show up from time to time, but are rare. They are rare because not many people want them enough to pay to have one made up. On the whole they are less useful that a side by side with barrels choked cyl or IC, and IM or F; which guns are fairly common.

Okay, thanks for the inputs.

I picked it up for a guy I know down Texas way. He does a lot of hunting and runs into various species while out.

For him the combo should be just what is needed: bird shot in one barrel and sabot slugs in the other for just about anything that comes his way.

The other option is for wild boar or such: double aught buck shot or slug as the need arises.

I'll get it shipped to him after the first of the year and wish him well!!
