Do you know why CDNN has CZ Woodcock only in 26" ?

CDNN is a "closeout" specialist. When a manufacturer or importer finds themselves with a make or model that just doesn't sell well with a lot of inventory, they sell them as a "lot" to CDNN and CDNN sells them off at a substantial discount.

In this case, 26" barrels have been declining in popularity in the US for many years. The "Standard Grade" Woodcock with 26" barrels did not sell well, so CZ-USA stopped importing that model and liquidated their inventory to CDNN. Saves on inventory taxes to Uncle Sam. If you look at CZ-USA's website, you will see that CZ-USA no longer carries the Standard Grade Woodcock that sold for about $850. All their Woodcock models now have an MSRP of over $1200. If you like 26" barrels, this is a good opportunity to pick one up at a great discount. If you really want one with 28" barrels, check out TR Imports http://www.trimports.com/commerce/misc/gunsearch.cz You will find the 103 series (Woodcock) available starting at around $830 and going up from there depending on engraving. OOOPS     Correction.....The ejector models start at $950. The $830 models have extractors.

If you are interested in the Huglu guns, take a good long look at the TR Imports site. These are pretty much the same guns as the CZ-USA guns. Same reliability. Same 5 year warranty. Same manufacturer. More selection and in most case better prices. And you don't have to buy "sight unseen" and play the "wood lottery". At TR Imports, the wood you see is the wood you get. If that matters to you.

But if you are looking for a real bargain, CDNN is hard to beat, especially if they have the configuration you want.

If you are looking for the "deal of the century", check out the Canvasback on CDNN. Comes in 26 or 28"; 12 or 20 gauge. $499. IMHO, probably the best deal around on a good quality O/U field gun.

@2FEW Wow - very instructive! Thank you!

I ordered the Woodcook 20ga 26" for $800 shipped. Looks great, hope it handles as well. I plan to use it for grouse, pheasant and maybe ducks.
You'll LOVE it! Should be a hot little gun for grouse, pheasant, maybe even woodcock!

Do you know if you can order the barrel only ?
I don't believe you can. A spare barrel set would have to be fitted to the receiver I believe.

Canvasback seems a nice gun, maybe next one ;-).
The "Can" is a good gun. At $499, its one of those "How can I not?" type of things! :D
