Has anyone had any experience using the Falconstrike recoil pad on a 12 ga O/U/ Did it drop the recoil noticeably ? Wonder how something so short can really benefit that much?

I'm certain it will reduce felt recoil noticeably. But so will a number of other recoil pads.
Much depends on what is on your O/U now; no pad or an old, hardened pad would mean a new pad, Falconstrike or otherwise, will make a huge difference. If you currently have something like a new Inflex 2, the improvement won't be as dramatic.

If you are looking for a very effective recoil pad that does not cost an excessive amount of money, you might consider the LimbSaver AirTech.
I also have an X-Coil on one of my shotguns (couldn't get a Limbsaver that was precision-fit) that is quite effective.
(I replaced the Inflex 2 on my Citori CX with an AirTech and could discern the difference.)

I don't know how those two pads compare to the Falconstrike in terms of reducing felt recoil, but I know how they compare in price.

If you are interested in how it works have a look at the patent(s).
US11209068B2 - Hydraulic damper - Google Patents
It is fundamentally different inside than every other pad out there and the physics behind it makes sense. I have not shot one though and I am in the same position you are (interested and considering it).

The Falcon Strike will reduce recoil. It also weighs 6 oz which is a lot and will alter how your gun handles. If you just added 6 oz of weight to the stock of your gun you will decrease recoil. Not saying that the pad part doesn't work, but the weight of the pad is certainly a significant part of it.
I choose recoil pads, in part, to either alter how my gun balances or keep it the same. Castellani is the lightest and I use Kick Eez if I want to add weight to a stock. Pachmayr is in between for weight.

Thanks! I actually have a Limbsaver on my 12, but an older one. Thought of upgrading to the AirTeck model but thought I'd look into the Falconstrike first to see if it was worth it. Getting older and on blood thinners now, hope to shoot well into my 80's health permitting and also will have grand daughters shooting soon. Been reloading 7/8 and even 3/4 oz loads for reduced recoil along with money savings. Don't really see any difference in my scores with the lighter loads as long as I keep them in the 1200 fps range.

Thanks, totally understand what your saying, I've played around putting lead inside my stock also, but as you mentioned, the balance changes.

It works very well. I put one on an older Citori Ultra Plus Sporter and it reduced recoil. It also added a little to my LOP, which I didn't mind. It did add weight to the stock. My shotgun was a little muzzle heavy before and now with the Falcon Strike, it balances on the hinge. Wins all the way around for me. I'm shooting light 7/8 oz 12 ga loads at skeet with it and no issues with the inertia block and second shot. My primary reason for putting it on was my OEM pad had gotten hard and slick. I wanted something softer and stickier and didn't want to go with the grind to fit pads. The Falcon Strike was easy to fit.

I love them. All the difference on my 870s. I would think if you have the same thickness recoil pad on your gun and weighed both, It would be nowhere near an additional 6ozs. I have four and a half once weights in the magazine of my 870s and the weigh in at 8lbs 6oz. I have one on my XLR5 and have no problems with it cycling. I think he has a money back guarantee. One doesn't have a whole lot to lose.

Thanks! Just got off the computer typing to Martin from Falconstrike on his website and he quickly found me the proper template for my stock. Super to work with! Going to try and find the right one tomorrow for my buddies gun then order one for each of us. This gun actually has just a 1/4" less LOP than most my other guns so the little extra length of his should work out great. I switch out shooting cloths a lot with our 4 seasons here in Canada, so I think it's better to have something attached to the gun along with my drop gun snap shooting style, I don't like the possibility of movement with the ShockEater.

If anyone is interested. I keep reading about all the weight the Falconstrike adds. I weighed one today with the plate. It weighed not quite two ounces more than the same size Kickeez pad.

I would think some of the larger ones would weigh more but then again you need to subtract the weight of what you have now. Just saying it adds six or more ounces may not be a true statement.

There's no model number on it anymore unfortunately, I purchased it about 20 years ago. Don't have the original box and haven't looked on their website, guess I could. It's solid with no indents or cushion type of things showing like the new ones. Just solid black and quite soft. I will look into their website when I have a chance. Sorry

I have two of them, one on a Beretta 694 and one on a Weatherby Orion - both in 12 gauge. They have definitely reduced recoil but jeez are they expensive. They also add 1 3/16" to the LOP so you have to take that into account. When I bought them they were offering a military discount - which they have since stopped. Probably the best recoil pad you can buy, but is it >$100 better than a Kickeeze? Without a direct comparison I'm not sure.

Kick-eez is a recoil pad vs. Falconstrike, which is an engineered hydraulic recoil reducer that looks like a recoil pad. That is why it cost more than just pouring some rubber into a mold like Kick-eez.
And yes, if you want the most recoil reduction the Falconstrike is without doubt better than a Kick-eez.
