I'm the new guy here but thought I'd post a few pics. I went to South Africa in October of 22 and took a few critters. Thought I'd share a few. I'm just now starting to get mounts back from that trip. I went again in May of last year, but that's another thread.
Crazy inexpensive to hunt there as well. Everything was taken with a Howa 300 win mag with a suppressor and a Swarovski 4-16x44 scope. Bargain basement rifle but clanging a 10 plate at 987 yds was not hard at all. Enjoy.

Thanks!!

Here's the crazy part. That 11 day/10 night safari....in a fantastic lodge with 3 awesome meals every day, all the beer and wine you wanted to drink every evening while you're sitting around talking about the days hunt, laundry service every day....that entire safari.... including the 11 animals I took.....was $10K. Airfare round trip was $2500. Shipping the heads and hides here to the states was another $2500. Now the REAL expense.....the taxidermy......kicks in. But that will be spread out over a couple of years, so even that is manageable.

Where in Africa did you hunt? I have a friend who books African hunts based out of Cameroon and has several concessions in other areas. He personally has about 100 lion mounts of his own.

Two other folks who have each done over a dozen safaris, including elephant, lion, leopard, etc have some beautiful mounts. When one of them built a new house, his "living" room was 2100 sf with 18' ceilings and the walls were floor to ceiling with mounts of everything

Looks like a great hunt!

We were in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Our outfitter was Mupunzi Safari's. Awesome lodge, awesome meals and the PH's were great.

I saw an elephant hide/head mount in progress. Just the bare form alone weighed 200 lbs. I can't even imagine what it would take to get it into a building and on a wall. I'll see if I can find a picture.

I used to have both Charlie's trophy rooms saved; amazing trophies and stories, including hiding in a ground hide at night with lions roaming close to the bait; too much adrenaline rush for me!
