Hey all, newbie here. Seeking opinions on the value of a Model Mag-10 Ithaca with serial number 185. This obviously appears to be first year manufacture. It's in decent condition, but needs a good cleaning and the wood has seen some use. Thoughts?

Nice Timber.on that. Refinish it and it will pop! Great guns used mine for cranes this year. I have replaced all the springs with a kit from Wolf as was getting a few malfunctions., now no issue. They are a lot of fun. Not a lot of these on line to gauge vale but they do pop up. Best guesstimate is $900 to 1,800 unless you find a collector looking for that grade.

The Mag-10 was introduced in the 1974 Ithaca Gun Co. catalog, said to be available in the fall 1974 --

For 1974 and 1975 they just listed the Mag-10 with semi-fancy American walnut stock and forearm, amply checkered, $499.95.

For 1976 they list the Mag-10 with solid American walnut featuring "sharp, handcut checkering, 18 lines to the inch for a grip that's secure even when you're wearing gloves." Vent rib, recoil pad, swivels are standard, $499.95. There is also the Mag-10 Deluxe "Exactly the same as the Mag-10, except stock and forend feature much costlier, semi-fancy grade of American walnut $599.95." In the 1977 Ithaca Gun Co. catalog the names become Mag-10 Deluxe $549.95 and Mag-10 Supreme $649.95. Inflation running hot back in the 1970s. They also introduced the Mag-10 Standard with a plain stock and forend with no checkering or swivels and a plain barrel for $399.95 and with a vent rib for $449.95.

By 1985, prices ranged from Mag-10 Standard plain barrel $726.00 to the Mag-10 Supreme $1124.00. By the 1988 catalog the Mag-10 is not offered but extra barrels are!?!
