Hi all,
I am working on an old Fox Sterlingworth, made by Savage arms in Utica. Inside a hole under the floor plate is a small spring that acts on pin which locks the top leaver in open position when barrels are removed. Would anyone know the size of this spring? Length and diameter?
Thanks for your replies.

The 12ga measures

.275 length
.125 dia

The 20 ga measures

.320 length
.120 dia

I think the difference in the two is only because the 12ga has been used more. my guess is that they use the same spring. Its function is the raise the locking pin the holds the thumb lever open when you open the gun.

I hope this helps.
