I was wondering if anyone has dealt with or had any experience with their trainers or better yet dogs? It's been about a month since I had to put down my German short hair, I mostly waterfowl hunt now so I'm thinking of getting a Lab. Their facility is about 1.5hrs away and was thinking that would be a good thing, I did a search for reviews but couldn't really find anything recent.

Thanks,

Ben

Just looking at their website, I would look elsewhere if I was going to buy a dog. They may have great dogs, but three things make me uneasy:
1) they don't have pedagrees for their dogs clearly listed.
2) they don't list any health checks.
3) they don't appear to do any sort of ability testing, and bad mouth them.
There are lots of good dogs out there, I wouldn't settle for less than what you want.

My friend just took possession of an English Lab from French Creek. He is a very experienced waterfowl hunter and he has been extremely happy with his dog and the training that the dog received.

I know he has discussed his dog's pedigree with me, so French Creek must have discussed it with them.

Not taking any shots at Clink, but this is my friend's first hand experience while Clink basically evaluated their web site content. Just saying.

No, not to take any shots at Clink - because while your friend may be a very experienced waterfowler, every one of Clink's cautionary comments are viable and to the point for anybody looking to get a gundog, particularly a Lab, and wanting to have any confidence in their purchase before they buy.

Personally, Orv-piss's marketing - as in pissing down my boots and telling me it's rain - is a hoot and a half with their "certification" scheme. And this French Lick Hick kennel is playing the part as if PT Barnum himself were directing things. Lots of pretty words, 99% of them without any substantiation, not to mention (as Clink did) pedigrees and health clearances. And by the way, "English Labs" are show dogs, British Labs are the working breed from abroad.
