GMV SuperStar Wobble Trap Parts ?

I have a SuperStar wobble trap and the motor that works the vertical/wobble part has burnt up.

Where does everyone get replacements for these?

The motor is a Leroy Somer and is all but imposable to find.
Has anyone replaced it with another brand? If so, where did you get it and what brand was it?
If there was a WW Grainger nearby, I would take it to them to try.

We tried getting one rebuilt about 20 years ago without much luck, it normally quit working about the time that there was no warranty left on it.

I know about QRP and have talked to them and waiting on them to get back with me, but I also know that they do not have one.

Does your motor still have its ID tag on it? Generally a metal plate with a bunch of info on it. If so it will tell you everything you need to know to get a replacement.
Graingers does have an on-line store.

Can anyone tell me the hp from looking at the above plate?
This is a face mount motor with a 7/16th shaft.

You're looking for a 1/4 hp 1780 rpm motor with an 11mm shaft, and an LS71P frame

Convert the kW to HP IIRC.

Very few US motors had 7/16" shafts, convert that to metric and see what you get.

The email no longer works but I have not tried the phone number yet. At the moment I'm trying to find another source. Both, Beomat and GMV are no longer in the USA from what I can gather.
It seems that QRP is the only one importing parts and I was told by them that they do not have a motor but is trying to get a price. I doubt that it will be worth it if it has to come from Sweden.

I'll just try getting this one rebuilt by someone if I can't find anything.

Just an update, I was able to find a replacement motor through Shyda's (it has to be ordered but no surprise there) but they sure do like it. It's a Lafert motor less the gear box.

Now we just have to decide what we want to do.
