Hope to construct an Oscillator if not combo Oscillator/Wobbler for a Champion Easybird. Have gleaned all I can find here and elsewhere, which wasn't much more than a youtube link of one in action and reference to using a wiper motor for power. Perhaps someone reading this has successfully done what I hope to and could offer suggestions or even comment on discovered pitfalls? Thank U

I made an unsuccessful attempt at oscillation with accidental wobble last weekend using items on hand. With the pre-Christmas discount offers inundating my mail box daily, it would have been probably more prudent to have considered a commercially available unit with the geometry already figured out. Anyways with compactness as a goal, I made the radiuses too tight, causing a faster than desired rotation. Perhaps you can glean something from my embarrassing mistakes below.

Any news on the homemade oscillator front?

How/what are you guys using for the pivot hardware? I would guess this needs to be fairly good machining to prevent binding and excess battery drain?

Also, for either factory or homemade, they run ALL the time correct? What about wiring it so it only oscillates during the throw and recock up to the ready point? I suppose this only works if it maintains a random effect.

I am just about ready to add some form of osc and/or wob to my easybird, inquiring minds want the benefit of your early trials and mistakes! :)

I have timing belt idler pulley(s) bearings taken from a Sonata when we changed the belt, that was used on the first attempt and intend to again. In my case I do not have a need to wobble at all, nor oscillate 100% of the time. Will use a remote assembly that has both A & B channel. One to trigger release and the other to rotate the thrower as long as it's held down. As for progress.....either I'm getting slower or busier with age; all I know for sure is right now there are so many irons in my fire that my eyes burn just looking towards it. That and my hands get cold when I go out in the shop to scratch my head while debating what to finish next.

Probably should add I was aka 'toolbender' until I lost log-in access.
