The Krieghoff website lists both 30 and 32 barrels having the same weight, 3 lb 9 oz. Is this accurate or perhaps a typo?

Assuming everything else is equal (contour, OD, ID, ect), the extra 1.5" of barrel (I believe the current 32" barrels are actually 31.5"), x2, plus rib, should add somewhere b/w 2 and 2.5oz

The only way 30" and 32" weigh the same is if the 32" has thinner walled barrels.

I bought a k80 Sporter and had the same concerns as you. I didn't consider a 30" mainly for resale value... it wouldn't be near as desirable and thought I could get the 32" to work fine for me.

First, I fit a 1/2" Cervellati pad as the OEM 1" Pachmayr was too long for me. I could not feel any difference in the felt recoil using my soft 7/8oz reloads... none. I shot it this way for months. Regardinging LOP, John at Pacific Sporting Arms told me to get it as long as I can without hanging up during the mount.

In time, I've gone to a 3/4" KickEzz with an integral stock weight taking the gun to 9lb 1oz. It balances nice, the length is right, and lack of recoil is comical.

UPDATE... Thanks to all for thoughts and information. Today I took a road trip to Winston Salem and came home with a K-80 Sporting 30". Ernest Marlette fit the gun and adjusted the stock for me while I was there. Superb service!! The 32" barrels just didn't balance the way I wanted it. Again, thanks!

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! !

The fitting part...been there done that. In the moment...feeling all giddy...

Like... pinch me...
is this really finally happening?

Odds are you'll have to tweak the adjustments once the novelty wears off and you really get into the shooting of it.

The worst part is over. The purchase.

Now comes the fun part. Getting to know your new love through and through and the little intricate behavior of it.
You also never stop learning things about yourself too.

Once again, congratulations and as always...
Be safe and have fun!!!
