So on the continuing search for the Target Steel load, I could only find Longshot where I leave, I try BPI and Precision for some help but no luck.
Can I get help with some loads?
Thank you

Depending on your purpose for the shell, I'd suggest you call BPI on Monday and discuss it with them. They're not open on weekends.

For trap, we use the MG42 wad from Ballistic Products all the time. It's a 1 oz steel wad. Here's the link:

Call them to place an order and ask for Longshot recipes that fit your purpose. One or two recipes will probably do it. We have club recipes with Longshot in STS/AA hulls & the MG42. It's a tight fit, but it works. I just ordered 10 bags of MG42s from them which is the limit. I can't give you the club recipe because of liability concerns, but I'll bet you BPI will be able to help you. They have sent me some special slower recipes because I asked and I've purchased lots of components from them, so I know they can be accommodating. 1200 fps is plenty fast for trap 16 yard targets. Why take a beating? If I want to shoot yardage, I sometimes switch from #7 to #6 sized steel which smokes 'em good. #6 is allowed at our club because it's for the lighter pellet weight of steel, but it's not allowed for our ATA shoots.

Saw your other thread that says you're a target shooter. With Longshot, it'll work great w the MG42 wad and STS/AA/Fiocchi hulls. Call BPI and/or Precision for recipes. Tell them it'll make the sale. I wouldn't buy recipe books from either one if you're going to buy the wads from them. It's not/shouldn't be needed.

Sorry for all the late reply, I got no Hulls yet. Prescision don't recommend the Longshot anymore, they said varies to much from batch to batch so they don't give any data for the Longshot, on BPI they send me a few but more on the fast side.
I will be shooting Skeet only on the club.
Thank you for all the information again, will be reading through.

Here you go. MG42s in STS hulls with 1 oz of #7 steel. It's actually a perfect fit without an over shot card. My crimp might be a tad deep, but it works. There's a bit of a hip on the loaded shell at the right arrow, but it doesn't hurt a thing. You can see it on the middle shell as well. Shells chamber fine.

Precision reloading used to have Longshot data last year for 20g. They removed it this year for some reason. I use a load that used to be posted from them….. 16.5 grains of Longshot with 7/8oz #6 or 7 steel shot for dove. We have shot a lot of it and it works well for us. I get 1240 to 1260fps out of both my Mossberg SA-20 and Weatherby element upland. They both function great with these loads. I have used Cheddite, Federal TopGun, Nobel Sport and Challenger hulls with this load using Cheddite primers. I have been happy with TPS non tox wads. Depending on the hull I use a shot card or a pinch of rice to make for a nice crimp.
