I send the broken K80 Super Scroll stock to Mark Duprez. He fixed the crack and bedded the stock to a K-32 receiver I have set up with an un-single barrel. he did this for right around $200 with shipping. I sent him the stock last week and have it back already. I test fired it and it was fine. You can see a feint line where the crack was. I think that Mark is a great stock man and am pleased I decided to use him.

I'm no woodologist... but where the crack is and the way it cracked makes me think that while the stock was off the gun (I think you mentioned that its been off the gun for a number of years), the ends were squeezed together cracking the stock.
Didn't become really noticeable until it was tightened on the receiver and some recoil put through it.
Just a wild guess though, but if that was the actual cause, I don't think originally bedding the stock would have helped in any way to prevent it.

Glad to see the repair went well and the stock found a new home.

I am not sure why posters who are being ignored continue to try to stir up more drama, but it will not happen. This was a positive post about a guy that is great with stocks and it will not be twisted into anything negative. If you need an adjustable comb or other stock alteration, please consider Mark.

Where's the drama?

Literally everyone has complimented the work and happy with the fact that the gun was repaired by a gunsmith with excellent reviews/regard.

A few offered an opinion of how the stock may have suffered the crack...you know, the type of interaction that usually happens on an internet forum.
