The bolt lever just pulls in and out of the bolt. I changed out the bolt lever on my waterfowl 930.

Not sure on the back bore and chrome lined thing on the barrel.

The 835 and 935 are back bored. Not sure about the chrome lining but I believe so.

 

Welcome to ShotgunWorld, sinisterdonut. Backbored is a term most often used by Browning. The 930 barrels are not chrome lined and they are not overbored, at least as Mossberg uses the term with the 835 and 935 guns. An 835 / 935 overbored barrel has a 12 gauge chamber but the entire barrel past the forcing cone has an inner diameter of 0.775", same as a 10 gauge. However, there are two differently sized 930 barrels, and I do not know if the inner diameters of these barrels are both 0.729" or different.

Mossberg has increased the [outer] barrel diameter on some of the 930 model shotguns... Measure your barrel's diameter or circumference at a place ½" in front of the forearm to determine what size sling attachment you will need. The small diameter barrel when measured with dial calipers is 0.860" or 2.75" [sic, 2.7004"] in circumference when measured with a tape measure. GGG-1622S fits the small barrel. The large barrel diameter is 0.925" when measured with dial calipers and 3" [sic, 2.9045"] in circumference when using a tape measure. GGG-1622 fits the large barrel.

Do you know if the 28" barrel from a 930 would fit the JM PRO model? I got the JM PRO in a trade and ended up loving the gun. The barrel is shorter that what I would like for geese and ducks. Not sure if the models are interchangeable but figured I would ask before I spent some money.

 

930 and 940 interchangeable barrels?

Does anyone know if the 930 barrels are the same as the 940? Meaning can I swap them back and forth? A 930 barrel on a 940? I know the other internal parts, piston, etc are different but I believe I read the magazine tube is the same. Wondering is the barrels swap between without any other...
