I am moving to Portland, and I love hunting. What upland birds are commonly hunted in that part of Oregon?

I am originally from Oregon and do miss the bird hunting dearly.
Here are a couple of spots I've found and still try to hunt at least once a year.

Rouge River Valley - Mountain Quail (you've got to try this)
Waterfowl, Quail, Pheasant - Umatilla Wildlife Refuge
Pheasant around Pendleton
Chukars on the breaks of the Snake River near Baker City.
Turkey Near Halfway in Eastern Oregon
Valley Quail anywhere east of Cascades.
I've always found that the Oregon DFW biologists are great for giving up information on where to find birds.

The beauty is that there is a TON of public land. Now that I've lived in Texas for 16 years I REALLY appreciate the blessing that Oregonians have in their public land.

Birdbrained we use to get into them pretty thick out in the Molalla River Area. We would work the areas that were logged and were still not totally overgrown. Also, that had standing timber next to the logged areas. It used to be pretty good out there until all the poachers shot up all the birds. Last year I went on opening early in the morning only to find my pointer retrieving a couple of dead birds. A friend of mine goes way up the Clack and cuts over to Detroit and gets them but he will not tell me his secret spots, just general areas.
