Is this considered a target gun or hunting gun?

They tend to be too heavy for walk up guns...but perfect for doves. I have had a couple of 20g's on 20g frames and 12g frames....and several trips to Argentina.

I have seen them w/ 29.5 inch barrels and a slender English style stock that came in at 7 lbs. . In fact, when I had the 28 on the 20g frame I used it for walk up quail.

As Sera knows I have a MX 20 20/28 with 32" bbls and is set up to where it comes in 8 1/2# for sporting clays. Would not even think of upland hunting with it and carrying all that weight. For upland I like and use a Beretta SP II 28" bbls over my GSP's that weighs in at 6# 4 oz.
Based on this post it is more of a target gun.

On the other hand Dr Duk, I have an MX20C Pachmayr 20 gage which is basically the same gun with 26" barrels, 3" chambers, non removeable selective trigger with coil springs that is a "game gun" weighing 6lb 4 oz. It is a joy to carry and I do use it as my primary "clays" 20 gage until I can find a 32" to go with my 12 gage and 28 gage same like that I don't have to sacrifice my 4th great grandchild for, BUT, that may be open for negotiation.
