New 940 Pro dilemma...

Quick "sanity check" request here...

Situation: I've got a new 940 Pro Tactical #85152 that I'd like to have outfitted with the dark walnut wooden forend and stock from a 940 Pro Field #85154, and not the original black synthetic furniture that it came with. Nothing wrong with the black forend and stock, as I just like the classic wooden look.

Since Big Mossberg is not going to sell me the separate wooden furniture parts, I'm extremely tempted to just purchase a new 940 P.Field, swap out the furniture between the 940 P.Field and my 940 P.Tac, then turn around and sell off the new & unfired 940 P.Field with (unoriginal) black synthetic furniture. I'm willing to take a small hit on the resell price to part ways with what is now essentially a standard 940 P.Field #85155 just for me to have the wooden furniture for my 940 P.Tac.

Questions: Is this train of thought and course of action(s) too far out in left field, or should I just wait for Big "M" to finally sell separate parts & accessories? Anything else I should consider before I create this "bastardized" 28" gas gun and try to sell it?

THX

What about a Boyd’s laminate, I believe they do a 940 stock set up.
Wow, that's AWESOME! I did not know about this option. I will be contacting them first thing in the morning/afternoon to verify it their "Mossberg 940" builds will fit & function properly on a "Mossberg 940 Field". If so, this keeps me from going the painful route with buying a 940 Pro just to turn it into a "donor shotgun".(y)

Didn't get the "warm & fuzzy" feeling on the proclaimed fitment of Boyd's furniture on a 940 Pro Field/Tactical/JM. It may be a bit too early in the game for them (or anyone else) to have a good design for the 940 Pro.

I asked Mossberg if they had parts for the 940 (I have a SnowGoose with a 12 rnd extended mag and wanted to have the option to simply remove the ext. mag and use it for other birds without using a 10 shot plug!). Mossberg stated "Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, we do not offer this for the 940-model firearm. If you are interested in purchasing something like this, you would need to inquire through third party." No 3rd parties (Midway, Brownells, etc.) had an end cap or a spring. Found on one forum that the 935 parts are mostly interchangeable, took a chance and at least the parts I needed are! Now I've got what I wanted and have a great shooting bird gun.
