Traded in my Zoli Z-Sport MR (w/ Light Weight Barrels) and my Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting (Blue Receiver) for a new Beretta DT11.

Love the wood on this gun. I normally like rich, dark wood, but something about the contrast on this wood really appealed to me. Added some Extreme Chokes as well.

Cleaned it, lubed it, waxed the wood (Renaissance) and took some good photos. Enjoy!

Very nice rig, but would be sending it off to Coles for inertia block force reset work.
Note, hard to believe that on a $10K plus shotgun, it not coming with mech triggers to start with, hard to believe in today's market, since most sporting clay shotguns, are also used for hunting as well.

Hence target type conditions, can always get a "due over" if first barrel fails to fire, but in hunting type conditions, without a inertia block reset (think mech triggers), at least you can get to the second barrel to go off on the next trigger pull so you don't lose the bird.

I got my first Zoli Z-Sport (Flat Rib) in 2015. It was hands down the best value gun out there at the time (in my opinion). Unfortunately, it just didn’t fit me well. Worst part was I had horrible cheek slap from it. Made some pitch adjustments which helped, but it just was never quite right. I sold it in 2016 or so. I didn't even get into shooting again till late 2022, as I was in the middle of a career change from engineering to airline pilot (which consumed my whole being haha).

Late 2022 I wanted to get back into shooting and demoed a Zoli Z-Sport Midrib. I liked it a lot as it was a lot more comfortable than my Z-Sport Flat Rib. The Monte Carlo stock made a big difference in felt recoil. However, the more I shot the midrib, the more I realized I didn’t love it. The stock is big, chunky, which made it really awkward in my opinion for any sort of presentation I wanted to shoot with a cheat mount or with a “lower” gun. I felt like the midrib was more of a distraction than anything. That said, I still shot it quite well. What I realized in the end was that the Monte Carlo stock was just hiding the same fit issues I had with my original Flat Rib. It became very obvious on fast trap style targets where I would start pre-mounted. Anyways…I don’t want to bore you with all the details but the more I shot it, the more I realized I really wanted to go back to a flat rib. Looking back I probably should have kept my flat rib Z-Sport and just had a custom stock made.

The best way I can describe the Zoli Z-Sport Midrib is it’s a big Cadillac - it’s comfortable, swings nice and smooth, but it’s not exactly an agile gun. If you’re going to shoot FITASC or even just Sporting where you want to shoot with a cheat mount or low gun it just gets very awkward. This is just my opinion of course and means absolutely nothing haha.

The DT11 already feels a hell of a lot better from a cheat mount - more of an Italian sports car than a big Cadillac.

Whether the DT will be the right gun…time will tell. I sure hope so! This thing is a beaut!

I’ve been brutally sick the last week, but I’m hoping I can maybe get out there tomorrow to shoot it. Supposed to shoot AZ State shoot in Feb. We shall see!

Late to the party. First of all congrats on the purchase and the wood is gorgeous. I think that my son has the other part of the same tree on his new DT 11 ACS it has the same graining and some of the same pigments from the pictures.

On the triggers, you will be fine with the factory as long as you shoot 12 ga with it. If you do any sub-gauge shooting buy the mechanical set from Coles in FL and keep yours as a backup. My son and I both have DT 11s bought from Coles and Coles mechanical trigger conversions and we have a factory trigger for backup. We shoot skeet and trap with them and the trigger works great.
