Gentlemen,

A little while ago Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers contracted Wyssfiresidesetters for a Ryman Setter puppy. We are real picky about purchasing our Ryman Setter puppies, the parents must be proven Grouse dogs, and have proper medial certifications for us to purchase the pup.

We just received some pictures today of our new Blue Belton Ryman Grouse dog puppy, I am real excited to have acquired her from Wyssfiresidesetters and from the pictures the pup looks to have an old soul already.

We here at Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers thank Wyssfiresidesetters very much for supplying us with a beautiful Ryman Setter Grouse Dog puppy. It will be a pleasure having 2 Blue Belton Ryman Grouse Dogs in our home once again.

We named the new Ryman pup, Pine Creek Ryman Maggie Mae after my Grandfathers incredible Ryman female Grouse dog, which I learned to Grouse and Woodcock hunt over, at a very young age.

Mike advises that our pup has been helping him out in the work shop lately.
There is nothing like the Magic of a Ryman Setter Grouse Dog, especially a Ryman puppy.

Wildwood,

Hoping to be back on my feet long before next grouse season, got to admit the healing is going slowly. Thanks for the well wishes, and checking in on me.

Gentlemen,

Pine Creek Ryman Maggie Mae arrived home about 4:00 PM yesterday after noon and took over the Pine Creek Office like she was born there. All good and am enjoying the new Ryman Blue Belton pup immensely. Seriously fantastic puppy!

Gentlemen,

Thanks much for the complements on my Maggie Mae, will keep you updated as she progresses with her training and some additional pictures also. My home and kennel have been rejuvenated with the addition of both a Gordon & Ryman Setter pup.

It is a very smart dog breed and a perfect hunting companion. This breed has in its genes to look for birds, to bring them to you. But it takes a little training with it. Keep in mind that they do not listen to the commands you yell or physical punishment. You can say goodbye to the dog; he will not listen to you. I didn't know so many details until I met Alfred from cleverpuppies.com. He helped me a lot to train Leo and to make him a much more obedient dog. But in general, what being would like to behave ugly with it. Even dogs feel when you act in a hostile manner.

Sigint,
No doubt about it Ryman dogs do not take well to heavy handed training, Maggie is Passive dominant and a hand full at times, very very smart Grouse dog, training is progressing slowly right now due to the fact I can get no training birds, and I am recovering from open heart surgery.
My main supplier was killed last year in a barn fire, never realized how lucky I was to have him right here in Gaines, Pa.
Now getting birds all the time has turned into a problem. We are lucky here that most all training is done on Wild Grouse, introduction to gun fire is always done with plants birds so the young dogs associates gun fire with a dead bird, and they are never scared of the gun fire. We start with the .410 and work our way up thru the different gun gauges, finishing with the 12 gauge gun, training a little bit at a time. However nothing can take the place of training on Grouse in their own habitat, real Grouse scent is like a drug to a Ryman Setter puppy.

all the best,

Gentlemen,

God took Maggie Mae to his never ending Grouse Forest over the Memorial weekend, my home is pretty much devastated by her loss. She had cancer in her stomach beyond what any Vet could do to save her. It was the worst Memorial weekend I have ever experienced. I will never forget her, I am grateful God let own her, even for the little time she was here, she hardly left my side. Its been a real tough Memorial weekend.

all the best.

lossking,
Me with Pine Creek Ryman Maggie Mae, shortly before she became sick and I lost her. The only Ryman/Old Hemlock puppy that we have ever lost to any kind of sickness in over 60 years. It has devastated my family. God let me have her for just a little while, I will remember her always, especially in the Grouse Woods, and helping me recover from open heart surgery.

all the best,
