Got it at NSCA Nationals from Woolley. I can't wait to get this thing delivered! So pumped!

Well, ran into a problem and I'm super disappointed.

I started the DROS/transfer process now that gun arrived at my local FFL. I mounted the gun for the first time (after new wood fitted) and uh oh... comb is way too high. I was scratching my head trying to figure out what the problem was. I looked at photos of these guns more closely and realized this stock is meant for an HR model. When Zoli sent me photos of wood options, they inadvertently included this stock as one of the options for my MR gun. And as luck would have it, that's the one I chose.

I've reached out to the dealer and they will get in touch with Zoli this coming week to see what can be done. They'll have to send me photos of new wood options and double/triple check each one is actually for an MR model. Will have to ship gun back to Zoli, new wood fitted, and then shipped back to me. I'm pretty disappointed because all said and done I'm probably looking at almost two months of waiting for a gun that I literally bought in person. AND I really liked the wood on this one! But it's gonna have to come off...

There were only three other wood options available at the time. And only one of those interested me. So if that one is no longer available, I'm kinda SOL unless they're willing to upgrade me to the next tier of wood grade.

If you love that piece of wood a lot, another option would be to have the comb cut down to the correct height for you and then refinish the hole butt stock.
Yeah, I thought of going that route. But there are a few issues with it. First, that will take even more time. I need to find someone who I trust to do it. Then who knows what the refinish will look like and the fore-end would need to be refinished to match. That all costs money. Then if it doesn't come out the way I want it, I'm outta luck with any recourse from Zoli since I chose to modify the wood.

Also, I don't think it's just the comb that's different between the HR and MR stocks. Where the bottom of the comb starts (the cutout) is in a different position on each one. So who knows if other things are different as well (palm swell, LOP, profile of comb's cheekpiece, etc.). I do really love the look of this wood, but I think it's better to just get one that I know 100% matches the ones I demoed in person in terms of fit.

Not sure how the mixup happened. I would assume they have all the wood/stocks labeled.

I just read through you threads and how you got to your choice. Very fortunate you got shoot so many different guns to compare. Gun looks fantastic and sorry to learn about the mix-up at the end. Based on everything I've read about Zoli's customer service, I'd be surprised if you didn't get well taken care of with the updates. Curious, how did the zoli zsport compare to the K80 sporting when you compared them. I ask because I was looking at a second gun and one that I could use with subgauge tubes and the zoli was checking a lot of boxes.
