I always wanted to do an antelope hunt, one of the few animals I wanted that I didn’t hunt, yet. Might be time to start doing some research!

I just got home from my Antelope hunt. Got a pretty nice buck. 540 yard shot in windy conditions.

Really didn't see many Antelope on the big ranch we hunted so was fortunate to get a decent one.

Anyone else hunting them this fall?

Congrats, nice buck. That said, why would you shoot at 540 yards in windy conditions when the probability of an errant shot and wounded animal is high?

Congrats, nice buck. My son got drawn on a special hunt in Ca. He took a nice buck too. At 275 yards. Antelope are such a beautiful animal.

Antelope hunting with a rifle is a one day hunt at most. They are a curious animal that relies on their extraordinary eyesight and can be known to run miles . . . . . or just stand and look out of curiosity.

Try one with a bow (not crossbow) sometime.

 

What part of NM? Looks like the NE around Clayton/Raton.
