Want to upgrade from my BT-99 which has the factory Gracoil adjustable comb and also has a Gracoil
recoil reduction system installed , my Grandson will start shooting Trap next summer and he can
shoot it .
I live in Pa and about one hour from Joel Etchen and spoke to Matt and he informed they will sell
their 687 Silver Pigeon Delux Trap combo set and split them up and just sell the Unsingle for
$4700 . To be honest aesthetically speaking the Unsingles are just plain ugly to me .
The only Unsingle I have ever shot is my friends TriStar TT-15 Trap Unsingle and my scores are
no better or worse . His Unsingle fits me well , I like the more upright shooting position and able to see the birds quicker and more cleary and notice a little less recoil . I love the Kreighoff
KX-6 Special but it is $2000 more money . I have a Browning Citori CX that I can use for Doubles
does anyone here use a Unsingle as their main Trap gun for singles and handicap ? Thanks

I used a Beretta Unsingle for Registered Trap for about 10 years....as the second gun for Trap I ever used.
I did not find the Unsingle at all ugly....I did find less of the gun was available to ignore and I did ...also imagined...thought that reduced recoil was delivered from the lower barrel of the Unsingle.

I followed that gun with a Perazzi TM-1, fixed full choke.....I preferred the Perazzi for the trigger and a few other marginally valid and barely identifiable reasons, rather mostly because I simply found it more pleasing to look at and to shoot....we humans are quite often fickle and can come up with many...great?....reasons why a different gun is sorely needed.

I always shot Singles and Handicap with the same shotgun.....I see and saw no reason to change up.
The cost or distance to where purchased in Ohio has been forgotten....time was late 80s, I believe.
If you are convinced the Berettas Us ugly then you are unlikely to ever give the gun a long enough or fair enough test to be proven wrong.

I had a Etchen 687 trap combo with the unsingle, and loved it. Shot for a year and Etchen had about a dozen DT-11s from the Beretta team in 2014, traded my 687 and have the DT-11 combo with the unsingle and still have it and enjoy shooting. Had a friend who wanted to see my DT and would not shoot it, but went out and bought one, and bout a month later was selling it. The high rib is not for everyone.

IMO, you might be much better off with the KX-6 Special. Or any one of the earlier model lines. You can find a nice used one for $4,700. So your Out of Pocket cost would be the same. Even if you find a nice used one for $5,500 or close to it. You'll never lose any money when you go to sell it. Unlike buying a New Beretta Unsingle. Which you may not like??? I do suggest you try to find a used KX-5 or 6 from one of the vendors here. See if you can get a 3-5 day return grace period. To make sure you like the shotgun. All you lose is the shipping cost back to the dealer!!!! Then you'll know. I too really enjoy shooting Browning shotguns. As such shooting Kreighoffs stocks are a natural for me. Shooting Beretta O/U stocks do not fit me nearly as well, out of the box. Which is what the Unsingle stock is going to be. So be sure to shoulder that Beretta, and a KX-6 while your at it. You might be glad you read my post??? Best of Luck to Ya.
