Bought this 12 gauge Coach Gun as "used". To me it looks un-used except for some very very small dings at the bottom of the heel of the stock. Bores had what looked like factory old grease in them, cleaned up mirror-bright. Has surprisingly nicely figured walnut on the stock & forend for a $400 shotgun. Will remove the auto-safety function on it. Don't know what I'll use it for yet... LOL.

I picked one up in stainless. killed many a pheasant with it. It makes for a great gun in the truck. Short & breaks to split right nedxt to a guy going from spot to spot. Seems like a lot of people rip on Stoeger guns.......I think its mostly due to the reasonable pricing. I've bought two of them and never had a single problem. I'll buy more of them.

Yeah, I have had a Stoeger Condor O/U 12 gauge for almost 20 years and have put thousands of hunting & target load through it with zero problems. Not the fanciest gun, but has been a workhorse. I think many of the problems I read about for the Stoeger O/U and Coach guns (like cracks in stock behind the receiver tang) are a result of people modifying them and causing problems, like over or under-tightening the buttstock back onto the receiver which then causes those cracks. Or over-filing the internals trying to slick them up.
Since I'm not a cowboy action shooter I may just leave this one as-is other than polishing the receiver hinge contact surfaces to smooth out the opening a bit. Very stiff right now (another sign this gun hasn't been shot much or at all).

Stoeger has sold millions upon millions of shotguns worldwide. If they were junk, the consumer market would have recognized that by now and they'd have gone out of business. In my opinion they are affordable good-value shotguns. I have a Winchester 101 worth $2000. It's prettier than my Stoeger Condor, but it doesn't actual do anything more (other than having ejectors). It hasn't been more reliable than the Stoeger (both have been problem-free).
