So you’re renting a golf cart at a large tournament, is there a portable screw on clamp (e.g., golf cart frame) barrel holder that you’ve used?

I saw one at the Seminole Cup that a guy was using but he drove off before I had a chance to ask him about it. It looked ideal for throwing in your gun bag for temporary use.

There is a guy who sells some magnetic ones through my club. I don’t have his contact info and for some reason he doesn’t put any branding on the mounts themselves but you can reach out to Defender Outdoors at (817) 935-8378. And they should be able to give you the info. They work well unless you have a carbon fiber rib since they are magnetic.

I haven’t seen a golf cart gun rack that I trust completely, yet. I like my gun broken open and the butt of the gun on the floor next to my foot when I’m driving a cart (and obviously holding the gun with my left hand). Some of the racks in the back of the UTV’s are great, but not so much with golf cart racks.

Yes, there were a few golf carts converted for single gun toting but not very practical for shell storage. Golf carts gave way to Baby strollers with pivoting front wheels, commercially made in Wisconsin.
I built my own, it was so easy for me with two-gun racks, and fun too.
I can carry 200 shells and room for my empty boxes and spent hulls.

I saw one guy with a portable three-wheel electric golf cart converted for his gun and a remote device on his belt, so the cart followed behind him everywhere he walked. Pretty clever rig.

Hi All,

Two years ago I designed my EbikeScabbards so that I could use my ebike for sporting clays. Now I have them available to purchase and they are starting to show up at shoots around the country.

With regards to Thunder Bay's question though, it turns out though they work pretty dang well for golf carts too. Earlier this year at the Gator Cup (2024) I did exactly as the author was suggesting. I flew with my ebikescabbard in my checked luggage and attached it to the "A pillar" of my rented golf cart. All I can say is that it worked great for me. It was easy to take on and off and it kept my gun right where it was convenient to put in and out at each station.

Almost all of the shoots I attend are within driving distance so I am using my ebike and admittedly haven't had a lot of opportunity to use them on golf carts. If I was driving to a shoot and for some reason could not bring my bike I would definitely bring my EbikeScabbard along and clamp it to the cart. If I were flying to a shoot and renting a cart it may or may not be worth the effort to bring it along. I am curious to hear from others how big of a problem having a good way to carry guns on the rented golf carts really is. I have been hearing from more than one gun shop about repairs due to guns falling off of carts.

Thoughts, questions, emails, or visits to my website are appreciated. Thank you.

Very good question. The rule is “vertical” so technically barrels should point straight up or straight down. There are plenty of racks/mounts that put the gun at a significant angle though and I have never seen defined anywhere what angle is acceptable.
