I have Ranger glasses now - non prescription . they are good no issues - the CMT is excellent .
Had an eye exam last year - need small correction - so was thinking of getting a couple of lens with the correction .

Question is the Rangers can be done on Edge frame not the Falcon [ shield style ] - OK I can live with that
other question is it seems that the AR coating is not standard on prescription lens - its an additional charge [ +65 !]

Option is Pilla but the Rx is an insert Lens , saw some unfavorable reviews - Pilla lens choices are [ridiculously] extensive -
Not sure how reliable the inserts are - some folks have had them crack around the frames .

I have the Ranger Edge with single vision (for the distance part of my vision prescription) lenses made by rxsportoptics.com that I am very happy with. Not a good comparison, but I also have a pair of Pit Vipers with inserts that I do not use for shooting sports. From my experience with those, I am pretty confident that inserts would not work for me -- the corrected field of vision with the inserts is just too small (for me).

Pilla 580's are made with the prescription built Into the lense rather than an insert.

I have owned and used non prescription RE Ranger Edge, and tried on a pair Pilla 580's. I feel the pilla 580's are a better quality product in terms of frame design, and lense to frame attachment. I think both have high quality lense coatings and color options so performance could be a wash.

I have ordered a set of prescription Pilla 580's but they have not arrived yet so I can't provide are detailed review. If your okay with center posts and split lenses rather than shield style lenses the 580s and the Edge are probably your 2 best bets.

If you really want shields and don't mind inserts the the Pilla Outlaws are the way to go.

I like the shields but have an older set of Ranger split lens - not an issue .
I'll look into the 580's not familiar with them .
My Rx is slight and can manage without corrective lens - The X6 Pillas could be used with or without insert - that was appealing

If you ordered prescription lenses you can get any Pilla color option you wish...the 580 non prescription lenses are limited. My oder is really custom:

3 lense set:
left Lenses 30 CED, 50 CED, 65 CIN
Right lenses 10 CED, 30 CED, 19 CIN

Basically darker lenses lenses of the same color profile for the right eye vs left eye in an attempt to give left eye light/info so it hopefully stays more dominant more often.
