I thought I would share this, as it may save some of you time and trouble.
Ever strip the screwhole for the recoil pad screws? In the past, I would drill and dowel, and re-drill. Hopefully, the new hole would be perfect and the pad would sit same as before, but not always.
I just stumbled on an easier way. Take the old screw to your parts bin or hardware store and find the same screw, but 1/4 or 3/8 inch or so longer. Deepen the screwhole appropriately and reinstall. Just take care in case the bottom of the lower screwhole is near the surface of the stock.
Works great, and no fear of bad fit of the recoil pad.
Thanks to all for all the tips you have given me in the past, especially about how to hit Low 3.
