I have looked at the Jones, SPS, and 100 STRAIGHT recoil pad adjusters. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations on which adjuster works well? I want to drop the pad on my Beretta 682 Gold between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.

I had Pat Gottberg install a Jones on my JEG Gold E combo. It was what he recommended and for the installation cost was well worth it to have him do it. If you have a smith near you, or go to shoots where they have a trailer setup, I highly recommend going that route and what they suggest. As long as they are a good smith and most of them are that are at larger shoots IME.

I really like the ISIS and had Tron install one on my Pacific Sporting Arms 12 ga. Sporter SxS, along with cutting an adjustable comb. He does great work as mentioned already.

However the OP wants to drop the pad up to 3/4" and likely adjust the toe in or out, like I did on my JEG trap gun above. You can't do that with an ISIS.

No matter which one you pick, here is what I did.
I had the guy doing the work fit the moveable portion of the system to the recoil pad. This way you never have to have another pad ground to fit. Just screw a new pad to the unit. No one has mentioned the slight mismatch.

Steve, I don't understand. If you don't mind the mismatch, why not just let the whole adjustable device match (like usual) and let the recoil pad be the odd piece? I guess the metal backing would protect the recoil pad better if they match. Is that it? Maybe it is just 6 of one, half dozen of another. But personally, I like the sleek, perfectly fitted match too much. It is worth it to me to have a gunsmith grind the pad for me.
