Hi All- I have a question. I have a Rem. Classic Field 1100 16 gauge (28inch barrel) in very good condition. It is a new model (not sure the exact year) with screw-in remchokes. These were the models that were built on a 12 gauge frame (I believe). This gun weighs about 8lbs which means it is just sitting in my gun safe taking up space. I have been trying to sell it for about 6 months with no takers up here in N. California. I decided to try out Guns.com and they made me an offer for $1000.00. Seems reasonable but I am not entirely sure. See pic below. Any thoughts? Is this a good offer?

If they offered you that much, then they intend to mark it up and make a profit. The 16 ga 1100 isn’t rare, but it’s scarce, and as such will bring quite a bit more money than a 12 ga model. I would guess somewhere in the $1200 to $1400 range. Your gun with Rem Chokes may have a heavier barrel than the older models with fixed chokes. That being basically a 12 ga barrel bored to 16 ga making for a heavier gun. If that is the case it would be a little less desirable than the older fixed choke models with a lighter true 16 ga barrel. Prices on 1100s have gone crazy since the demise of Remington Arms. That despite the fact that the major source replacement parts went with the parent company.

FWIW, a few years ago I bought a mid ‘70s model in excellent condition fixed Imp Cyl, and I paid $1300. I know that I could sell it for more these days as most were choked Mod or Full

Thanks for all the great feedback- I love this site! I do believe it is worth quite a bit more than what is being offered by Guns.com. I am looking through GB now to find FFLs in my area that could help me sell it. I haven't tried 16ga.com- that is a great suggestion- thank you!
