My lgs just got in a very nice lw 20 gauge with a 28" vent rib barrel with fixed modified choke. I know that the lw proceeded the lt and barrels do not interchange. I want to use it for
dove hunting, five stand, and sporting clays. I would probably send it out to Mike Orlen for choke tubes. I need help with the following questions:

1. Is $550 a fair price?
2. How is the durability compared to the lt 20?
3. How does the recoil compare to the lt 20 and other 20 gauge semis?

Thanks

1. It is not unfair, provided the gun is in good shape and working condition.
2. Same
3. Same

I have never seen an LW 20 with an issue. But, according to Wayne Leek they did redesign it into the LT 20 because of problems, therefore I would not say the durability is equal to the LT 20. I would say the value is slightly less than an LT 20.
Did you look close at the barrel tang? During the transition some marked LW were 99% LT.

I just finished a thorough cleaning of my friend's old LW 20. It has wear on every internal part. He bought it used with no history of it and it has been shot A LOT. It has functioned perfectly since the day he got it about three years ago. I have never seen a semi-auto so worn or function any better! They have very light felt recoil, too.

I picked one up a few years ago that came with plain mahogany stocks. After lurking on Numrich long enough, I acquired a fancy factory stock set for it and tell people it's a custom shop job! I have to say the original stock set was very light. I've not had any functioning problems with mine, and I even found a LW magnum barrel to use on the occasional turkey.
