Thanks. I found some old Rem green hulls labeled power piston. They had a fiber base wad like old Federal hulls had. I figured they were definitely not interchangeable.

 

One-piece? Or separate basewad.

 

The black, shur shot, and premier sts have a one piece basewad.

 

Look inside the hull. If it is a one piece hull they are considered interchangeable. 2 piece disc base are not. Usually different colored flat disc. Yellow was popular. "Power piston" hulls are not, also could be either 209 size primers or 57* type primers. Usually fiber based, but not always. Some fiber base 209 size primer hull came from the factory for a relatively short time. Those pictured in post#1 are all considered interchangeable.

 

The Remington hulls in OP's original post are all Remington unibody Hulls. They are not the Remington SP hulls. They are not any of Remington's older Hulls that had fiber base wads or used the #57 primer. All you have to do is look at the picture to know this.

I’m going to buy a couple flats of either Rem game loads (black hull) or gun clubs. Which hull is better for reloading?

the chunks of colored plastic dumped in the bin with the 'clear' [opaque actually] chunks at the time of manufacture is the only difference.

i like the black ones better, but haven't seen any kicking around for a while now. [they also come with a 6 point crimp FYI]

 

My older black bulls are 8 point crimp. I would rather not have to swap out for the 6 point crimper. I load a lot of AA’s. Yep, I’m that lazy lol.

Really same. Black hulls in the past had a tendancy to get crunchy at the mouth but I have usually discarded hulls after the 6th firing anyway. Hulls were plentiful around here. Have a lifetime supply. Preferred the brass plated head hulls in the "unibody", "STS" hulls were real brass heads.

 

Given a choice I prefer the black 6 point fold hulls. But in all honesty overall they last the same.
